Self Care With Indu Arora (Part 2)

The following 2 Part Blog Post is a sneak peak into my amazing conversation with Indu Arora on my podcast, Talk. Travel. Transformation. The episode will be available to listen on December 22nd.

Kelly: So next I want to dive into one of my favorite parts of the book is all your beauty tips, because there are plenty of beauty tips and listen up because no one needs to spend a fortune on potions and creams because Indu's recipes use ingredients that are already in your pantry. I know you had one about yogurt and then another little formula that you have, tell everybody about Yoga Glow.

Indu: So that are two stories interweaved here, Kelly, in beauty recipes. So as, a teenager growing up, I was really, really very fond of all things that can make my skin shine and make my face radiant.

Kelly: And it is radiant, but you never wear makeup now. So tell everybody your secret.

Indu: Well, there are two secrets here, but they are no secrets anymore because I'm going to just share with you.

One is my grandmother. She always emphasized on probiotics for healthy skin. And this recipe is a probiotic for the healthy skin and it is just yogurt. The culture in the yogurt, the probiotic in the yogurt is so healthy for the skin. And now Kelly, I'm realizing that there is actually complete product lines with probiotics, but here's my, here's my take on this.

How much processing it must have gone through. And how much of that is left until it becomes a lotion, a cream, a face wash, right?

Kelly: This is the real deal.

Indu: It is the real deal. Here is a real product right in front of your eyes. All you need to do is use yogurt as a mask and mix it up with this second recipe.

That is Yogis Glow. This is again a formula. It's a formula of herbs and flowers and spices like aloe vera, almond, marigold, sandalwood, lime peel, rose. Just these natural ingredients in it and this is a powder. This is a formula shared to me by my grandmother.

And then when I met my teacher in my late teens, my yoga group, she saw that, you know how you forget things that you learn in the childhood. So I forgot because my eyes were all mesmerized by all these things that are available in the market, right? So it started getting dependent on all these things.

And when I met my teacher in my, in my teens, she looked at me and she gave me almost like a ultimatum that if you want to study with me, you need to just use natural products. And I promise you that your skin will be radiant and healthy. What do you need to do is throw all of these things in the trash!

Kelly: I love it. I mean, literally you can read this in the chapter in the book, but you basically, you take your Yogi Glow and you use rose water if you have irritated skin and rashes. You use egg whites if you're seeing signs of wrinkles or early aging. You use like whole milk or plain yogurt, if you're prone to blemishes and acne. And honey if you have like very dehydrated skin.

So, I mean, it's, it's basically mixing these herbs and things that you have in the pantry, right?

Indu: Absolutely. You just use a medium that is conducive for your skin. And, you will find that in Soma written very clearly what you should use. And Yogi's Glow that also the powder comes with a booklet, which has an instruction booklet of what it is and how to use it, and what are the ingredients.

So these are the two things I would suggest. Yogurt and Yogi's Glow. And when you combine them? Magic.
